Heres why don't like to bracket race i lost at my 1st race with the new car with a .028 lite the2nd race lost with a .024 lite and today with a .019 lite.How about you do you like to bracket race?

bucky i do like to bracket race,, its a new challenge and i like racing the car,, im having fun.. i dont think i would enter into a national race that did not race class or have a hemi thing going on,, but at this point im not a good bracket racer, if i was and i was looking to get into the top 10 in my division or something then maybe i would. right now ill take any and all runs i can get so that i can get comfortable in the car and try to learn as much as possible every time i go out racing. it isnt common to have a hemi car going far into eliminations though,, you and little joe probably do the best with it, charlie probably could as well though he isnt interested in anything but heads up and trying to outrun everyone on the planet so that he can sell parts to everybody and make money.

I just love that icon nothing personal.There are alot of very good hemi drivers.I guess just the maintenance keeps alot of them from bracket racing.But you sometime dont get the opportunity to have a nat event track either. But as of late they dont worry about them until the pros run.I couldnt hook norwalk till friday.But my goal is to win one of those big trophys.I dont know if it will ever happen but im trying. What do you think ?

Almost seems to me that trying to bracket race one of those cars is a seriously futile effort. All the SS/AH owners/drivers run their cars on "kill" all the time. Makes it pretty tough to try and hook one up in the later rounds when the track goes away. The way I see it, the only way someone is going to be able to bracket race one competitively is to either a) back the car way down which no one wants to do or b) dial for spin and practice your finish line fender racing, but even that's next to impossible because spin effects RT and you never know when the car will or won't hook.

A lot of the SS/Modified cars win races and, though they run similar ET's, they don't make anywhere near the TQ these Race Hemi's make. Let's face facts: if you're not driving a car off the trans-brake and can go .030 or better every round and the car will hook up in water....the odds are definitely stacked against you.

The SS/AH class average was -1.003 for the AHFS reporting period. Index has been lowered to 9.75.
