Thanks, for the links. I went over there and could not figure out how you got to that info. I looked under PRESS, but I'll have to work on it.

Charlies prices are very resonable.
You can NOT build a SS/AH car for $160K
You can NOT build a rolling chassis for
$90K

I believe Phil Mandella Racecars is up
to $130K for a roller now, give or take
a little.

Sure you can build a roller for under $90K. Not saying that Charlie's car isn't a good deal, it is. The records and wins prove that tenfold....but it doesn't take $90K to build a winning roller. Check that, shouldn't take $90K....

Bucky's new car is a Phil Mandella roller. Charlie's car is a great price with or without the motor considering it's winning history.

It's almost cheaper to build a nhra pro stock car these days than a ss/ah car.I was told it takes 250k for a good ah car...this is from starting from scatch..

I know who built Bucky's car. And we built Jim Pancake's Dart, and have two more on the table being built. It shouldn't be 130K for a roller is all I'm saying....

Charlie,
If you can say, who bought the motor out of your car?

Regards, John

Depends on a few things:
What parts you supply
How good of shape the car is in; i.e. how much resto work would we have to do
And how close to paint is close to paint.
The last car we did had 95% of the body work done and was in primer. And the interior/underpinnings were show quality.
And we supplied brakes, 3rd member, motor plates, battery holddowns, fire extinguisher, etc.

That was less than $90K.

I won't deluge actual numbers here, because that is my father's responsibility. But if you, or anyone for that matter, is interested in having us do one, we can easily come up with something close. And I think our performances speak for themselves!

BTW, does anyone know Pancake was in the big $ bracket race @ Indy this weekend? He was representing The Blankenships and the Classic banner, and apparently didn't do too bad against all the professionals!

Who says the Hemi guys don't know how to race!!:)

CA Duster,

Just curious as to where you got your numbers on Bucky's car, what a "little" is in the "give or take a little" and what you consider a "roller"?

Thanks, Pirate

I wasnt asking for me, I am happy with my guy. I was just making a point that you cant build a car, wire it, plumb it, paint, computer, tires wheels, test extensively, and get stainless headers, 2 pro-trans, 5 convertors, (20 K worth right there) for 90 K.

He lost 1st round in the 32K, don't know about the 16K, all they have posted is that Scott Richardson was the winner.

Seems to me Pancake is a "fish out of water" at that race.

i was thinking of seeing if there was/is any interest in trying to get a side hemi shootout going at a points race like the div 4 race at memphis, or the div 3 race in columbus,, though id rather see it at memphis. i think charlie organized one 3 years back at stanton,, maybe a 250.00 pay in from each driver,, then the pot gets split 75% to winner, 25% to runner up. its awhile off till indy,,, just though it might stir it up some,, if we could get 10-12 cars to commit to it,, id go,, id imagine joe and allen will be there,, ???

based on your track record of not paying your non-contingent awards (dutch 07') I think I will pass on anything you are involved in. If someone wants to race I would encourage going to a chrysler classic event. he told me that if 4 cars show up he will put some money up for us to race for. there is one at martin in a month or so, I would plan on that before another empty promise.

charlie the guy from maple groove worded it wrong.. i told him i would pay anyone but you or your dad since you insulted me so much even when we were "friends"

id be in at martin,,, i thought memphis because the teutons were already going there. im sure i could get keyes to go,, so that would be two, both westcotts,, thats four,, maybe woo,, pancake,, need 6 more to commit,, then it would be a fun deal...
