when NHRA opens up the registration for a national event, the more grading points you have the earlier you can enter the event.
example, Pomona registration, registration opens up lets say 7 weeks before the event, (I dont know the time frame so this is only an example, just roll with it)...
7 weeks before the event, racers with X amount of grade points are allowed to enter, then 6 weeks before racers with a lesser amount can enter, 5 weeks its racers with even less grade points, and so on until the class is filled ... this encourages people to race divisional races if they are interested in racing a national event.

Hey Wayne.. With the entries down to 60-70% of full at Nationals, I really don't think it really matters at this time. If some how the economy just magically rebounds, and racers start racing again, then maybe you'll need 4+ grade points..  On a side note, you can average the last 3 years.. Kind of like the IRS..  Chris..

Vegas is pretty full. The Pro categories are 100%+. Super Gas though does have 20 some odd entries left and Comp, which has taken the biggest hit has plenty left. Only makes sense in Comp as those are the guys with the $$$$$$$$$.
