Sorry to say but he has not gone as fast as his customers. Also the motor that was in the car is the one that was in it when he bought it.

I guess we are in agreement, all engine builders have the fastest car.
the engine builder may have the fastest car in the stable, but some stables have thoroughbreds, and some have mules, which stable do you want to be in.

yes buckey is a painter and he had to go find a engine builder who dont have a ss/ah car. when he ran bartons motors he was fast till barton built his own car?????
your missing the point. most AH racers ink checks to buy fast engines and got know clue how to put the power to the track. Bucky, henson, woo, wilkes, raines, pancake and a few others are the only non engine builders that I know of that know how to make the car go down the track.

so when you choose someone to do open heart surgery, do you go to the bar and see who is fun to talk to, or do you look for someone who isnt going to kill you?
my customers apreciate the fact that I develop all the new technology on my car, track test it, and prove it works before they get it. when you buy a part from me whether its an oil pump, or an engine, it is proven. It isnt something that I think will work, It has already performed. last year at belle rose henson out ran me, and at every race that we were all at, the top cars were all my customers. I think my program is doing fine, I dont need to dream up excuses, and scenarios for how fast we could have went if we had the right convertor, trans ratio, etc. Excuse never won anything.

He may not be 100% politically correct to everyone all the time, but CW has a mission and thats winning races and building engines capable of winning races. I have the utmost respect for he and his father. I like someone who will tell it like it is and not sugarcoat it. The old saying is " the truth hurts " !

I would say that is right on. And Jr is a [Edited by Moparts - Keep it clean] most of the time, and that truth hurts. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif) And the part about has a mission and thats winning races and building engines capable of winning races Gee doesn't that describe a whole bunch of really great people in this industry?? You don't have to be a [Edited by Moparts - Keep it clean] to do that.

I guess each to his own. He doesnt offend me. I have thick skin and a great sense of humour. I just think he and his dad are more focused on making horsepower and winning races than a lot of others. I aint directing this at anyone, so if the shoe fits, wear it.

thats correct, we both broke. we also won the next 3 races we went to. You see when you are developing new parts, things break occasionally. it goes back to my way of breaking in new ideas before I pass them on to customers. If I remember, your buddy jeffs flagship (keyes) layed down a 9.20 something, and we went 70 something. Thats only about 100 hp behind. we have been on the dyno all winter (we have a real dyno room, not one with headers blowing exhaust in it like MCH) and when we hit the track, everyone will get a wakeup call. That car that the fruit bought went 60's last I knew, now after his tune-up it goes .99. I wouldnt be throwing to many daggers my way.
