Not fast enough to put it on a forum or come to a shootout, yet.

SealockRacing:

The hemi Darts and Cudas have several special heads up races called 'Hemi Shoot Outs' at selected races that are sponsored by Mopar and others that are run in conjunction with qualifying. The ones I can think of are all the Sportsnationals, Indy, Las Vegas- Mopars at the strip and Mission,B.C. There are more I'm sure.It has to be one of the best shows going.

You can go on the NHRA website and look under the tab for schedules and see what National events will run Super Stock. And if Super Stock Class is contested you will see some heads up racing of any AH cars that are there for that race. Even if class is not contested there may still be an AH Dart or Cuda at the race. But the Hemi Shootouts will attract the largest gathering of the cars to see. And it is well worth the trip to see the show. One of the best times is always at the sportsnationals in Belle Rose coming up in April.

thanks for the info.

i just wish the Hemi Shootouts would come to the east coast...

the west coast is quite a trip to make for me...

id make the trip up to maple grove no problem, but a cross country trip just isnt going to happen for me.

maybe someone who helps set these up, would put in a suggestion or something for a east coast show!

so, there may be some if they arent contested? sounds like ill be at richmond for all 3 days no doubt!

can someone post a bunch or pictures of these?

id like to see some under carriage shots to!

just shots of everything you can think of, i would enjoy.

we have a 67 cuda setup for bracket racing, and ours sits just like the AH cars do, and i just love to see the awesome wheelstand pictures of these, and just pictures in general!

thanks guys!

The shootout is run at Maple Grove in October, Indy, the Sportsnationals in Columbus, Belle Rose & Fontana. These are all NHRA events. In addition, there is one in Vegas at the Mopars at the Strip event.

it would take me and my dad and a few buddies a couple hours to get down there, and if thats the case, well be taking work off for the weekend no doubt.

thanks for all of this information!

btw, i forgot to post a picture of our bracket car in my last post... here it is!

still ALOT of work to go, it aint perfect like the AH cars, but its perfect to me, just needs some TLC...aint bad for sitting in a metal garage for 20 years...

Sealock, I wouldnt change a thing about that car...maybe polish the slots a little. Its got a cool nostalgic vibe about it.

oh, im not changing much if anything really...

right now, im working on polishing the wheels, and just cleaning everything on the car. just freshening everything up basically.

so far i have rounded up the old wilwood brake calipers that need alot of rebuilding and work to get them working again.

polished the front wheels, along with the centercaps.

drained, cleaned, and refilled the 60 out back

and im ordering all new lug nuts which it really needs, ill be making the order today or tommorow for sure.

then, when it warms up, im borrowing the powerwasher from work, and completely detailing the car. powerwashing the engine bay to get it ready for the new powerplant. and going nuts on the under carriage to make it nice and degreased. also washing and waxing the entire car.

motor will be a 440 with a set of headers made specially for 440 barracudas.

i love this car. my grandfather owned it, and raced it a few times. then sold it. my dad was in love with it when he was my age, so he bought it from my grandpas friend. and hes owned it ever since. so now im a 3rd gen owner/ driver of this car!

you could say its a John Sealock family car i guess!

ill make a thread with more pictures and updates as i finish stuff on it!

thanks man!

i could go on for hours and probably days with what i want to do to it in the future. i dont mean like restore it back to factory, but restore it to the quality of these SS/AH cars. everything just seems so perfect on them.

i have not one intention of selling...this car will be owned by me, and my son, and hopefully my sons son, and so on...

Is that the same "old piece" that ended up getting a wild purple paint job??
