Great picture. I remember watching Roy race alot through the 80s. He ran the Tennessee Thunder car and he also drove a 65 Belvedere that was owned by Mark Klein (great guy).

WOW! Thanks for sharing that pic of the 65, way cool . That's the car that became the Southland Flyer, right? That was maybe a little before my time. Ralph thanks for those pics of Tennessee Thunder and The Mountain Hemi. There was none better looking at that time than the Mountain Hemi cars. Joey, I was going to mention that earlier about you guys buying that car, I remember John sold it to some Yankee and Roy didn't get to drive it at Indy that year. Sal I wonder what happened to Mark also. He teamed up with Jeff Taylor on those SS Camaros for awhile then that was it.

Looks like that will be one awesome ride!! I'm a new member, even though I've been reading this board for quite some time now--Been a hemi s/s fan since I saw 3 Steve Bagwell cars @ Rockingham Dragway in the early 80's!!! Does anyone know what Rick Johnson has been up too?(ex-John Hagen car) haven't heard or seen any news about him in a while--
Thanks, John

Last I heard Rick parked the Cuda, and started racing his 64 Dodge again, as the Cuda was getting too valuable to race. His Cuda is Hagens RED car, that he raced in the early 70's, not his Green Cuda.

IIRC the Dodge was backhalfed years ago, to run SS. Unless he redoes the entire rear half of the car, I can't see that car running A/SA.

Bucky, is that the 65 Plymouth you got? I've never saw a 65 Plymouth Tennessee Thunder. Does anyone have any pics of it. I have a pic of a 65 Dodge Tennessee Thunder car. Probably from the early 80s at Indy with Roy Johnson driving it. I love that Flyer car.

can't find any pictures of his 65, but found this.....from 71???

Buckey, you will love that 65. It's not the same animal as the 68 but they bare a great ride and lots of fun. I wouldn't trade my 2 for anything.
