Hey Charlie....what brand of torque converter are the ss/ah guys using? What are you using? Thanks
ATI is hard to beat, you can call them in the morning, and it will go out that afternoon. I had A-1 make me one, it took 3 months, and it didnt work anyways. so I guess I could send it back and wait another 3 months to have it changed.
Hey Charlie what kind of stall are we talking. I have one of Mike Bookers ATI in a box from his car but i have no idea what stall it is? I dont plan on spinning the motor as high as you guys run them but i believe the stall has to be high.

I think B1Cuda\Chris is bailing cause this thread looks just like the threads on Marie's board, you got keyboard Bozo's using names like John Force instead of being a man and using their true name to hammer on anyone who doesn't share one guys view or agenda. I know Chris he is a good guy and wanted to have some fun, he probably would have donated whatever money to a charity for military personel. It's a shame that with the money some of these teams have why not just get your own website where you can have a lovefest with the groupies, this site Moparts is supposed to be a place where guys can exchange views, knowledge and try to learn from the best. Allen Johnson comes on here and you don't see him bashing anyone. Jesse Quote:

Just as a testament to how good the ATI Converters are I thought I'd share a little story. In November of '03, we took the SS/BA Belvedere to Las Vegas with a different brand converter in the car. It ran a 9.27 @ 140 in REALLY good air for Vegas. Cold, no wind, dry, you get the idea. The following March we took the car back to Vegas with no other changes made than the ATI converter. The weather was in the 90's all weekend long with a slight headwind. The car went 9.33 @ 141. A difference of only .06 when the other cars that had run both races had slowed .15 to .20. The following November, the car went 9.15 @ 142 in conditions that were very similar to the prior year. Again, no other changes were made but the converter. We had thought the old converter was doing a pretty good job until we stuck the ATI in there! Almost a solid .15 quicker than the old one.
Thanks for that bit of info. I've been waiting to see if anyone else was going add to this. Thanks again

Can you comment on what weight that was at? What size convertor?
The reason I am asking is my legacy 7.50 cert is expiring this year and do not want to go 25.2 with this car. Planning on slowing it down and enjoying it more.
Thanks Mike

Mike,
The legal minimum weight for the car is 3420 lbs. We usually run it pretty close to that. No more than about 30-40 lbs. over. The converter is 8". If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask.

I agree with Jared on the ATI convertors, historically they have been the quickest, fastest and most efficient of all the brands that we have tried. As Charlie stated, service and delivery is the fastest around. Also, we have found that only ATI can truly duplicate an existing convertor for stall, efficiency and ET/MPH. My ATI convertor currently stalls 64-6600, depending on weather/track conditions. We don't run the best 60's out there, but they aren't too bad for a 3630 lb SS/DA (best of 1.249 in 2007, 9.33/141).
