I was thinking on buying an MSD unit for my duster. I was set on getting a 6AL box, but it seems to me that they are not very reliable and people are always looking for one or having trouble with one! I raced at Monster Mopar Weekend this last weekend and got beat buy a guy and after we got to talkin. He said he ran a Digital 6 Plus unit. Seemed like a really nice unit. Said it was around 300 bones. Anyone have any experience or input on which way I should go??

I've run a Digital 6+ in my 66 Charger street car for about 8 years and I'm satisfied with it. I actually use points to trigger it; they hold up well when they don't have to flow coil current. My race car uses a 7AL3 and I swapped to the Digital 6+ once at the track for a few runs and the car ran the same, though the distributor had to be moved a little to get back to the same timing. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smoke.gif)

I have one on my dakota snd I really like it. It has a single step retard that I use to pull timing when I spray it.I also has a build in 2 step if you want to run a transbrake.

Heading to a chassis dyno in a couple hours to diagnose a high speed miss. Car acts more violent than just hitting chip. Not sure if the Dig 6 is the cause of problem or not. Not saying they are bad, because we do sell alot of those boxes and do not have many service calls, just not sure if my app exceeds the boxes ability. According to MSD tech, I'm blowing the spark out.... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif) For a street/strip car its a good choice, just be conscious of the aforementioned interference ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif) Good Luck

when mine had the RFI problem, it would act just as if it were running into the rev limited at 6300rpm.
Me too!! went through three boxes, put in an AL and no more problems?
