I bought a new Holly 770 street avenger carb had it reworked by a good carb guy who changed the jetting and power valves and what have you.I put it on my mild 383 BB and I find it is surging at WOT??? Anyone have any ideas?

Next time don't "rework" a brand new carb. Those carbs are perfectly fine right out of the box, esp on a mild 383.

It sounds like it's not getting enough fuel. But I would probably check your timing, advance etc. and look for any vaccum leaks though that probably isn't it.

the carb itself, slight vac leak, fuel psi, rotor phasing, plugs/wires. 1st It did not do this w the other carb? then that eliminates alot of the above. If your psi is adequate & no vac leak and the plugs/wires have not deteriorated suddenly (which can happen) then as said back to the carb. What are your plugs showing after a WOT run?
