The mopar is a unibody so if you cut away large portions of the car you loose the structural strength of the car. You would have to weld the ford body to the mopar floorpan all the way around. I doubt the end result would be safe or roadworthy. The simplest route to take would be to put a mustang II front suspension on the ford frame and then use the mopar engine, trans, and rear axle.

Hate to burst your bubble but the valiant doesn`t have a chassis. Do the ford right or sell it to someone who will before two good cars end up at the crusher.

All right guys, quit jerking the guy's chain. There are 4-2" bolt that hold the body to the frame, just lift it off and fit your ford to the frame.
You do realize that is a very wrong statement don't you? A bodies don't have a frame to unbolt.

I'll agree to disagree. Chrysler called the k-member the frame. In the frame box pictured are the last two digits of the part number for the k-member. This example is from line 4 of a 1970 broadcast sheet. So, to me, the guy that mentioned the four bolts is just more in tune with how Chrysler did things than most. The frame is not the same as the chassis on these cars.

As said, the valiant stuff won't work Old school trick was to use a volare clip on one of these old rigs to make them work, but there are much better options these days. These days, using 07 and newer crown vic stuff is very popular. I have installed a crown vic clip on my 49 fargo. It cost me very little before install Mocked up with some blocks It's bolted in here, with some channel. bolted together BB for mockup as well Another From inside the cab The rig Excuse the blurrrr

FIX THE FLATHEAD V8! I love the '49-'51 Fords when they still have a flathead in them. Build it with some aluminum heads and double or tripple 97s. I got hooked on them when I saw Robert Mitchem in 'Thunder Road' when I was a kid.
Its a buisness coupe with a flat head six and 3 on the tree. Its a family heirloom really. My great uncle bought it new. I guess I gota restore it the right way, but thats a long way off $$$$$$$
