This question cannot be answered if you want a legal roll bar. There is no 1 3/4" .083" chrome moly tubing. A legal roll bar, not cage, is required to have 1 3/4" main hoop instead of 1 5/8" tube diameter.
If you are blowing off the rules and go with Chrome moly you will save 35 pounds give or take.

One foot of 1.75" x 0.118" 1020 Steel tubing by 12 inches long weighs 2.07lbs. The same length in 1.625" x 0.083" 4130 N tubing weighs 1.37lbs. There is around 15 feet in a main hoop, give or take a foot or two. Do the math AL....

If you want to save weight go with a Moly bar and make it a 5 pt and use the 1-1/4" cross bar that the rules allow. I had to buy that piece separate since my kit came with a 1-3/4" cross bar.

That was very interesting ! and helpful . I wish I could do the job myself But I do not have the tig welder or bender. Soooooo. I have a fab shop picked out to do the job. another question ... Can I have a hinge/swing bar installed for the drivers door. or is there other regulations on that issue ?
