I dragrace a 1974 Plymouth Scamp that I have installed Lexan windows in. I converted to Lexan about 5 years ago and never had a problem until I installed a cowl hood on it 2 years ago and since then the door windows are blowing/sucking out going down the track or even while heading to the track on the open trailer. I have sealed up the drivers compartment as good as I could from the engine compartment but it still happens. I have even bungee tied the window frame (same frames that i made and have used all along) to the inside of the car and it still does it. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Brad

Could you temporarily switch back, or to a different hood to see if that makes a difference.

It could be coincidental, or perhaps it's the aerodynamics related to that cowl hood. Would be good to know/eliminate that as a possibility.

And who said cowl induction doesn't work?

Have you tried closing up the vents coming into the car from in front of the windshield?

your cabin is "pressurized"make a vent somewhere to reduce pressure.cover up the cowl vent on the outside too.

tape it up,you will get more air to the engine as it was robbing air from the hood anyway.

I tried lexan windows in my cuda but they were getting sucked out the by the wind passing around the front window and down the side of the car. Even if I had the windows 1/2 way down it would do it. Because Cudas dont have window frames I just put the factory glass back in. Might try it again some day when I put the car on a diet, but I will have to try and latch them on the top some how. (maybe the latches you see on a pro srock car)

You could put a latch near the top like the P/S cars have

My car did that until I sealed off the cowl vent grille. Even with the inside vents sealed off it still did it 'til I sealed the grille at the base of the windshield.

Mine did the same and I blocked off vents , drilled 2 1 1/2 " holes at the top of glass to let out pressure, blocked cowl, mounted powerful magnets at the top of the glass to the cage, nothing helped and then I made 2 new straps from the frame on the glass to the door, ran them down and about 3 to 4 inches from the bottom of the strap I did a 45 degree bend in towards the door and then bent the rest straight down flush with the inner door panel and mounted it there. Works great now! The only problem with the Pro stock type locks is sooner or later, someone will try to open one of the doors.

The frame like Quicktree shows is the best, mine is just cheap.
