is there a lock that goes on the end of the cam or jus the keyway and timing gear? i dont remember when i took it off, but i dont see one in my parts box.

There is a cam thrust plate that needs to go on. Usually attaches with 3 or 4 screws.

you need a thrust plate. MP sells one that is a combination thrust plate/time chain tensioner. That is what I used. This is the stock one:

thanks guys! the pic helps me a lot. and im guessing it screws inot the 4 wholes around the end of the cam right?

I think just 3 bolts. An oiling mod you can do is drill a very small hole thru the oil galley plug on the right (as you face the motor) and another hole thru the thrust plate. This helps oil the timing chain. Read that in "Mopar big inch Small Blocks". I did it on my Demon's 408.

Check out this one. It doubles as a timing chain tensioner. Alot of guys recommend it. Some don't.

don't forget the oil galery plugs! when you put the trust plate on it..

i don't see the plugs on the pic
