Recently got a bit of paint overspray on a set of white vinyl seats. Not really noticeable except you can see it where the seat belt was laying when the overspray got on it, looks night and day right there. Anyone know what works well for taking this off without killing the vinyl?

Some may scrape off dry (like with a fingernail.)

You could try Vinyl Upholstery cleaner.

When I come upon a situation like that, I experiment in an area not as noticeable (like underside of seat.)

Rubbing-Alcohol might do it, Acetone sparingly and cautiously applied might work. Maybe Cleaner/Wax might work, you never know?

As a Test, try cleaning a spot somewhere else on the seat which is generally hidden from view to see what effect it has on the material first.

When finished, you could apply some vinyl protectant.

The only thing that will work is lacquer thinner. Wet it down good with a soaking rag, and it will clean most overspray right off.

Use the thinner sparingly at first-and also test it somewhere to make sure the vinyl isn't dyed. If it is, you could dissolve the dye trying to remove the overspray. Good Luck.

Spray Nine did it for me.

Well I tried a few different products I had laying around and none of them touched it. Paint is enamel by the way. Tried a little varasol, scrubbing with comet, vim, ether and a few other nasty things and nothing made a difference. I cleaned it good with windex after to clean off any chemicals on it and no harm done but no help either. Will try some of the above suggestions. If I have to live with it it's no the end of the world. It's very light and not that noticeable.
