I'm hoping someone can give me a pointer or two about a brake line leak that I have. I installed a Hurst line-lock and I've had a leak that I just can't seem to get rid of. I've tried two different line-locks, replaced all of the fittings, remade the lines twice and it still appears that I have a leak coming from the threads of an adapter. Is there anything I could on the threads of the brass adapter that will stand up to brake fluid? Has anyone else had this problem? I want to go racing at Cecil County this Saturday, but this problem might sideline me.

I have the Hurst on my car as well and used a little teflon tape on the threads of some plugs that go in the unused ports of the line lock with success for 2 years now. No leaks whatsoever using Silicone brake fluid.

Good luck.

I was wondering how teflon tape might work. It's irritating because this is not the first one I've installed. All the ones before have given me zero trouble, but this one is driving me nuts.

I was always a big advocate that brake fittings should be flared to seal well with the high pressure associated with the system, but the line lock has some NPT plugs. I have had no problems at all with leaks.

Where exactly is it leaking from? Could it be you have a different type thread on the fitting/plug from what is needed? Just a thought.
