That sounds like a great idea. It would be cool to see several in the various paint schemes, like the original Motown Missile and Landy's Challenger as well. Maybe we can talk Oldfield into getting one?

Fred, the Challenger has been in the classification guide for several months. See the attached spreadsheet. The dumb thing is they only have the Drag Pack engines, nothing on the stock Challengers.

I am sure something that novel and very cvreated creative would have been done if David were involved. the entire race package deals would have been off to a flying start as opposed to the last minute decisions and changes that went down.
Then I guess you were not aware that David was involved with that program for a very long time, and played a huge role in it from before day one and long after?
Sorry Fred, I know you intended that to be a friendly comment but I speak the truth.....That is actually quite a negative slant, given everything David did for the Drag Pak program.

I've heard that, too.
I've also heard that there are about 40 of the Drag Packs that have been built as of now. I wonder if there is a list available as to who has recieved them?
Stewart, I've finally dug out a lot of those old pics....I know you mentioned that you touch them up. Are you still interested? Send me a PM.

That's good to hear Fred, because nearly everything you've complained about relative to the Drag Pak program was David's doing. Knowing full well how completely unhappy David's ideas, decisions and actions made you over time...I see more than a little humor in the praise...but it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know you still like him even though you hated what he did The guy did a bunch of hard work, and made a bunch of hard decisions--some of which pissed people like yourself off--however he did what he had to do and helped get the car out there. Nothing but respect intended for either you or Dave...but you should realize you're praising the same guy who helped make the decisions that made you unhappy with the DP program , and he made those decisions because there were no other reasonable choices available. So now, it's no longer about the race package program anymore, and it's really the whole drag program? Allrighty then, it can mean anything I guess but that's some seriously funny stuff there

There's no decision anyone on the DP team, past or present, could make without someone complaining. This includes the name of the program, the configuration, the availability: everything is subject to someone pitching a female dog.....nothing can be done about that. #22 was picked up the other day and the whole thing is rolling along pretty well now. David's hard work and dedication continues to pay off for both the corporation and enthusiasts even in his abscence. Rather than cancel a program because somebody will complain on the internet, it's happening anyway. Sorry if you don't agree with it, but it's the only way it could happen Sometimes there are no options.

Gee, are they going to make the 50 car minimum for Stock/SS? Are they still being sold as 2009 cars or changing over to 2010?
I was interested in getting one of these cars, but John Donato treated me like a stepchild every time I asked a question about the car when I was at the Hemi Reunion last year. I saw him hanging around Jim Hale at Ennis earlier in the year. Needless to say I didn't stop in and say "Hey!" I heard he was like that with other perspective customers. So, I bought an SE at half the price and got 0% financing.

The information embargo was both deliberate and completely normal on both the engineering (JD) and marketing (DH) side. Until decisions were set in stone, there was no real information to share. When you're not sure yet, why say anything? So, since DH played a big role in 1. conceptualizing and creating exitement about the new program and 2. the information embargo itself....I'd say your complaints are indeed a direct result of DH's actions. Actions, without which, we wouldn't have anything at all. I'm not saying that just to be contradictory Fred, you should know I got nothing but respect for you. I only mean to tell the truth. I'm a little closer to the subject at hand than most around here. I would love to see you jump in...however like we were PM'ing about long ago...I would REALLY like to see a BIW with one of your turbo motors in it even more

Back to the orginal post. I loved the Yellow and red cars. I do not remember the Challenger but do remember Gratiot on the doors of Luke Garner (Max Wedge), Tom Cunningham, (Max Wedge) before New Era potato chips took over the spot, Ronnie's Dart, Bruce Hawk's Dart. Lou's Roadrunner, Cunningham's small block 76 Dart/Demon (D/G) with Tom Franks, and a couple of 68 Cudas. I agree, a reto Challenger, maybe from Werner. How about it Chuck West!!!
