Who has run in this event?

Was it Fun?

Was it worth the entry fee?

It is coming to Bristol next weekend, 9/18/09, and they are lowering the entry fee to $45.00 from $65.00. Track official told me they only have about 130 entries so far.

I am thinking about entering but am a little leary about paying for a "chance of being chosen"

They are supposed to pick 3 classes of 32 cars and a quick 8 class. Better odds than All Out, but when All Out came to Bristol, entry was free.

Do they use that floating minimum thing? How does that work?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks for your replies.

Update. I see on the Bristol Dragway website that the event has been cancelled "due to a last-minute obligation with Christensen's SPEED contract"

Ran the one at Toronto Motorsports this year Dave S won my class 10.6's to 10.9's open TT's friday (well hear) cost another 20 to 25 bucks then a couple tt's Saturday then they picked 4 groups plus Quick 8, high twelves, high 11's high 10's and high 9's high nines was 16 10's was 32 as I think was 11's can't remember what high 12's were 16 or 32.
Voted on payouts 500 for three classes and 8500 for one or $1500 for 9's $3000 for 10's, $3000 for 11's and $2000 for 12's I think is how it broke down everyone voted for this sinario. Kinda cool to run in front of that many people.
Another friend won the 9 second class with a low 9 second cobra kit car when he got in as an alternate on a break down!
Don't know if I would go again?? maybe. no games or floating dials like the year before on the one class $10,000 pay out one of the slowest cars in the field won it. course 8,9, and 10 second cars trying to hit the mid twelve dial?? as floating dial had to be slower than slowest car in the pairing.
So this years heads up all out style classes were fun.
Now I understand they change rules tract to track day to day on Rich's whims so you know nothing till the drivers meeting right before the finals??

Oh yea you had to put you expected times in on entry then Saturday you were called up in groupings Oh and I think they ran a motorcycle class as no bikes against cars hear! so some of the 12 second money went there?? 11000 total with 1000 Q8
They also threw in a $1000 bonus for a gamblers race on the sunday free to non chosen ones and $30 to anyone in the all out groupings rained and I was beat so I went home Saturday night (two nights drinking for an old guy was enough!!!)
