Val-haul-ass... eventually
I know there are folks on here who have built some potent low-to-mid 10-sec (and faster) 400/440-based combinations that retain the stock 3.75" stroke. I'd like to know more about them, including the related details of the rest of the car (weight w/ driver, gearing, converter, etc.).

Thanks,
Brad

10.388 @ 128.80 @ 2146 DA (Had to look that one up in the old log book!)

.030 over 440
TRW flat tops, 0 deck, 79.5 cc head
5/64, 5/64 3/16 ring pack
LY rods
Stock 3.75 crank
Crane R280 roller (.680 lift with a 1.5 rocker)
263 (peak) cfm 906 heads
2 1/8" header
4150 base M1 with 8896 Dominator/adaptor
MP dist with 38 degrees total

Stock 727 with Pro Trans VB
8" (Munsinger rebuilt) A-1 converter
Converter flashed 4800 on the strating line

73 Cuda
3,330 with driver, full cell, jacket and helmet.
2 x 3 back half
ladder bars
HAL (Now QA1) adjustable coilovers
14 x 32 med compound tire on 14" wide Welds
8.75 with a 4.89 gear
35 spline spool
OEM front end
OEM brakes
8 point MOLY cage

Footbrake @ 2500 leave (brakes wouldn't hold any more)
6500 shifts (went NO faster any higher..actually slowed down if ran past 6800)
Accoss the stripe at 6900.

Car was all steel except glass 6-bbl (not sealed) hood. All Lexan windows. Stock dash and stock floor/firewall, except back half.

The really cool thing was going from mid 10.80's to that 10.38 without touching the motor. That was from freshening the trans/converter, replacing the bent rear end housing, and adding and tuning the shocks.

Go back and note CR, cam duration and header size. I soooooo regret not trying a 275-ish roller and 2" headers.

I'm even more remorseful for selling it to buy a STUPID COMP dragster!!

440+.060 , 1963 M.W. heads with two Carter #3705 750 CFM carbs on the intake, Isky 616 solid lifter cam, comp. ratio with TRW 2295 pistons I didn't know how to figure the true compression ratio then by pouring the cylinders and so on. 4:56 gears, A1 8 inch converter, 14x32 slicks. Car was John Dianna old gas class car when Mazzolini owned it, weighed 2860 with me in it in S/G ran a best 10.08 at 132+ mph, I don't remember the exact MPH. The 60 ft. times where worst than my stocker(3750 lbs) with the same motor, trans and converter.

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I ran 38* total with C12 fule changing timing did not pick it up. If you use the E-head the angled plug requires a notch in the pistion with a projected tip plug AR3910 but not with a AR3931 non projected tip.
