Man... that car looks great. It's going to be such a shame when you have to scuff that roof to apply the vinyl top. Personally, I might leave it as is and allow the future owner to make that call. It's not quite as easy to reverse as a microphone in the glovebox and not everyone loves a vinyl top... factory equipped or not. You make most of us look bad Alan. You are running circles around my Bee project...

Do you really think he's going to delete the top with the amount of restoration going into that car?

"World Famous"??? No... Very nice resto??? Yes

I agree. Car does look very good

Well i guess that depend's on your view of world famous, i live on the other side of the world and have known about the car sitting on the barrel's for quiet a few year's thank's to cars in barns.
Iv also had a few people i know mention this car to me in conversation.
So the question is...just how world famous is the world famous barrel cuda.

I guess some of these folks figure that if you stop a stranger on the street in Rome and ask him/her if they've ever heard of the Barrelcuda and they say no, then it's not world famous.

So every person in the world has to be aware of something for it to be world famous?

Awesome job on this thing. When I first saw the BarrelCuda pictures I had that typical car fantasy, you know the one: Road trip to Canada, drive around till you find a blue tarp covering a green car, sitting on some barrels, down in a hole. Then helicopter it home, wash and wax it, and drive it to car shows, taking home the gold. You've certainly burst my bubble with this by finding it first and all. Kudos to you on an excellent job! Love the photos. I consider them reference material. I'm looking forward to seeing them all on your web site when they up the bandwidth allocation.

You should hear the recent story of the guy that just found a '69 HemiCharger in a barn in TX.

I don't know how, but my post got deleted. Alan, would you be willing to post your assembly list/order for the e body for us rookies if you have one printed out? I'd also like to know how you go about referbing and storing all the small assemblies. You have to be one organized dude to be able to assemble this thing so quickly. Enquiring minds want to know! I am going to be downloading a gob of pics from this post. Gotta be helpful when my turn comes.

I certainly would love to help anybody out as far as information goes, but I'm afraid it would take me longer to type (one finger) out a list then it does to restore a car.
Honestly I don't really have an exact order I reapeat, I just like bolting on everything I have pre-finished because it's soo cool to put on nice new parts.

Follow along with these posts and you'll get a prefect idea of the order this particluar project is taking.

Ok...So in Canada we just had our Thanksgiving weekend....You would think that the ol'Barrelcuda would be finished....

...however I very rarely work on cars on the weekend, but in between scrubbin toilets, cutting grass and entertaining two kids, I managed to get in 4 hours in three days

While waiting for the flywheel I turn towards the front end black-out and headlights....These NOS babys were supplied by Bill Rolik

Looking great Alan,

To think I spent almost 9 hours rebuilding a pair of KH 4 Piston Calipers for my GTS this weekend. Of course I had to go through my entire stash of 6 calipers to find enough good pistons to build 2 good ones. Sure wish I had a tool for removing those pistons. I have 4 that are fused to the calipers.

I don't know how you do it. It takes me forever to restore parts. Of course I know you are sourcing lots of new and NOS bits. Perhaps my next one I will take your approach.

I sure wish you lived down here. I could use some schooling on your time savers hehehehe.

Where did the brake valve come from? Is there anyone who rebuilds them? Isn't the master cylinder supposed to be natural finish?
