I need to put a new headliner in my 67 Coronet. Right now the interior is completely empty.

Is there suppose to be an insulation mat or something behind the headliner itself?

Thanks.

Glued to the roof from the factory was insulation, of course over the years it deteriorates.

I use carpet underlayment available from an auto upholstery trim supplier, 3M Super trim adhesive and it works for me.
