Gents I need some help.. I am getting ready to have my 68 GTS painted and also have the tail stripe painted at the same time. Through my research I have found the propper location for the stripes but I also found out that the trunk lid stripe is not perfectly straight, more so it follows the trunk lid body line. Is their any way one of you guys who has a 68 could take some good photos of the trunk stripe on your car to help me layout mine for paint? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have seen lots of pictures of the stripe from the sides but I cant find any of the trunk lid for reference...Please feel free to contact me at mckate@cox.net

why paint it on when there,s correct 3M material decals out there? also if you paint it and dont like it later then what? good luck dan

I agree, buy the stripe.

It does follow the back top of the trunk body line which sorta has a subtle "v" shape to it. The difference on my 69 is about a 1/4" to the "v" shape from the sides of the trunk. The stripe towards the back window is straight. Hope this helps.

This may be as good as it gets (and do a stripe with tape like the original)

Which way does the "v" go? I had my Dart repainted and the strip put on with the v to the rear. Looked better that way.
