What is the position of the stock brackets ON the bumper itself? .. how far in from each side.
There are 4 points ... correct ?
I am not sure, I don't have the stock brackets. I have some over at my sons house but don't remember exactly how they mounted

here you go Ray, don't laugh I think it will work fine. I made it out of 3/4" flat stock and a little piece of round tubing.
yup, looks ok to me. if you saw my front bumper bracket you would think I was related to Rube Goldberg. Like you say, only has to hold a couple pounds. My rear bumper all ready has been mounted to the stock bracket so I need something a little different if I change them.
