What is the position of the stock brackets ON the bumper itself? .. how far in from each side.
There are 4 points ... correct ?
I am not sure, I don't have the stock brackets. I have some over at my sons house but don't remember exactly how they mounted

here you go Ray, don't laugh I think it will work fine. I made it out of 3/4" flat stock and a little piece of round tubing.
yup, looks ok to me. if you saw my front bumper bracket you would think I was related to Rube Goldberg. Like you say, only has to hold a couple pounds. My rear bumper all ready has been mounted to the stock bracket so I need something a little different if I change them. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif)

I guess it must work that way since that's how they make them, but seems it would catch a lot of air at 125mph+ and snap without the center support. Probably just me over-engineering again. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif)
I'll not tell my sis that you think her Bucky looks like an owl. She'd drive down there and kick your for you. I never asked what it cost her.
I'll sick my Gators on her. I doubt it will ever run 125mph I may put something under there to stiffen it. going to hook up my charging lugs on it tomorrow. I wanted to try and make SGMP next week but still have a bunch of crap to do. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

hey Tony, if you have a moment, would you remove the glass trunk lid and shoot a picture of where the 1/4 turn fastener tabs mount in the trunk channel?? and kinda show which tabs you used.
thank you
not sure what you want to see. the whole back is tin. I'll take some more pics tonight when I get home.

Home made brackets and AAR bumper weigh 4.1 lbs.
I'm guessing 15-17 lbs. I saved.
Sorry for the hi-jack Tony.

I guess I don't know what a 1/4 turn fastner is are you talking under the car where the quarter attaches to the valence?

looks like you removed the rubber/plastic/whateveritis/ spacer and moved the bumper in?? that is in my plan. any problem other than a shorter bracket??
it didn't have any rubber spacer thing. don't see any problem. doesn't fit that great with the rear valance but I think it's just poor glaas fitting.

Nice clean job with the gasket adhesive.... Next time, blindfold yourself, it'll come out better!

Not an excuse to do a sloppy job. You know I'm just busting your chops Tony, but you did such a nice job on the rest of the car, and then I saw that... But, as long as you're happy with it, and that's the best you can do, then that's all that matters.
well if it's any consulation I didn't install it. it was already on. it really doesn't look that bad in person and it's pretty hard to see it with the deck lid on and running down the track that is if it ever makes it to the track. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)

heck I have another one and plenty of ambition but not enough money. even got a 500" hemi setting in the corner that I am begining to think it's just a dust collector. I think I would trade eveything for a nice long vacation ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

didn't know I was starting a Sunday afternoon Tony roast. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)
I was wondering about the valance with the bumper moved in. My valance is off right now, so I can't tell how the stock one will line up. I did hold the bumper up and it looked ok moved in. (not sure about the side without the 1/4 insert, but it is only a racecar) ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drive.gif)
ok, now back to the Tony roast
it's all good I am use to it. there is a little gap where the bumper meets the valance but like I said it's probably the poor fitting glass parts.
