How far from the fender tag would an emission's label be (on average) on a '68 Road Runner that was assembled at the "G" St. Louis plant. Reason I asked is I just posted this photo of a "G" St. Louis plant '68 Hemi RR and see that it's way to the rear but I was going to put it closer like this original Lynch Road assembly A12 Road Runner.....maybe I'll just split the difference Any photos of any '68 B-body "G" St. Louis assembled cars with the original emission label still in the original placement?

If a pic/measure from a 69' St. Louis roadrunner would work, I can post that

Yeah, a photo from a '69 would help and I don't think they changed too much in a year.

(I don't know what the heck I was reading before duh)

From right edge of fender tag [looking down at it from left fender] it is 2 1/2" to the right. About in the center of the shelf but not square [does that make sense?].

Don't make it perfectly centered, at least this one was'nt

On my 68' Coronet it's located on the fender on the passenger side just forward of the washer bottle. It was a June 26 build date if that makes any difference.

Do we know if being a hemi makes a difference on placement between 1968/1969?

My SPD is 5/28/69

In my early 69 hemi Roadrunner it was in the 68 location, next to the water bottle.

Yeah, I'm eating those words now eh? and yikes I never thought about it being on the passenger's side and what happens with a big block with A/C doesn't the metal tube run down the fender by the fender tag but I "think" I've seen the emission label there on a late December '68 built '69 Super Bee.......gota go check a photo, back later after I finish eating more words

68's are in front of the washer bottle and 69's are behind the fender tag, engine dosen't make a difference.

my 9/27/67 st louis build 68 b body has none and no evidence of their ever being one on the car in either location.

Out of curiosity, was that car repainted?
I noticed both screws are painted and the tag does not seem to have the old bent up corner (upper left). Is there paint under the tag?
I also noticed ther is not an inspectors punch thru mark.

Is this true for the LA cars too? Does it matter if it has A/C or not?? Thanks.

This is starting to make more sense as I just found a photo a '68 Satellite from my archives that has it on the passenger's side. I think the larger fender mounting "pad" on the '69 models (see '69 above) would cover part of it if it was on the passenger's side, maybe that was the reason for the move?

(this is a '68 "G" St. Louis Satl.)

Well at least on the Plymouth B-bodies it is much larger, the Dodge fender/rad support mounting "pad" is smaller than the Plymouth. Here is a '69 RR pad that you can see it covers more of the area where the label on the '68's was.

it kind of looks like it may have had the emissions label there but it's on the driver's side on this "survivor" '69 Hemi rr as noted
