My guess is you didn't bench bleed it and it has trapped air in the bore. You will never be able to get all the air out bleeding through the calipers. The pedal is night and day different after bench bleeding.

find some clear rubber hose that will barely slide onto the threaded portion of the fittings,
I got some spare brake line,,with fittings,,,and cut them,,,bent them,,thread them in,,,to bleed the MC,,,, fitting's keep it nice and tight,,,no air.

Google "bench bleeding master cylinder" and you will find a boat load of articles with pics that show what Dave and Doc are describing. A you tube video was also listed in the results of a search. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

so after i bleed the master cylinder is it ok to empty or does it need to keep the fluid in it during reinstallation??? i think i can bleed it where it is if all i need to do is rereun tubing in each section and pump til the air is gone.. once the air is gone how does it stay gone when i remove the tubing and reattach my brake lines???

I hope this works for you. I wanna see that car going down track. I really, really, really love that car. Absolutely my favorite Mopar, bar none! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/drool5.gif)
