About to put TTI 1 3/4 headers on my 383 65 Satellite. The old headers were mounted with studs. Looking for new studs, I don't see Summit or Jegs listing anything. Are you guys using studs or bolts on yours?

They should be available at Napa. I have also bought them at Ace Hardware.

The factory studs were course threads in the head and fine threads outside the head.

studs w the unmachined shoulder between the fine & coarse threads are the best as the shoulder seals real good when it butts up against the head. You can shorten the outer fine thread portion to aid header installation. If you leave enough threads for the nut to fit flush you're good. I also use Permatex #2(my fav) on the threads.

I got mine at the local parts store.I run like 2 or 3 bolts with my 2 inch TTIs as the studs wont fit.I just antisieze the studs so they wont stick. My kid does the same on his 413 and they have never leaked.Rocky
