I have built many Mopar 440 motors and had them on different engine dynos, your combination of parts should make over 600 HP on pump gas if you have a good carb that is big enough to make that power. Big motors need big carbs, heads and intake as well as the proper cam to function in the RPM range you want the power to be in. My 512 C.I.(4.375 bore x4.25 stroke 400 block) made 612 HP at 5500 RPM and 644 FT lbs. torque at 4000 RPM with a set of 906 heads that flowed 266 CFM at .600 lift. that motor had 9.25 to 1 compression. I switch the heads to a set of MCH CNC ported Eddy RPM heads ( 310 CFM at .600) and increase the stoke to 4.300 (to raise the compression to 10.29 to 1 and make the pistons at zero deck) That increased the HP to 718 HP at 5600 RPM and increased the torque to 740 FT. Lbs. at 4500 RPM. The intake is a six pak with stock type Holley vacume carbs jetted up, the cam is a Comp Cams solid roller with 260 degrees at .050 on the intanke and 266 at .050 on the exhaust with a set of Harland Sharp 1.6 rockers which end up netting right at .700 valve opening at the retainers. What size is your carb. now and which intake?

My 496 made 630Hp with almost the same combo as yours. The difference was that I used a .650 roller cam from comp, 11.2 compression (zero deck height), and a 1050 dominator on Victor 440 (at the time, a super victor was not available).

My heads had no porting, just some mild clean up. If you get the porting done properly, use the large carb and slightly bigger cam, there is no reason why it shouldn't make 650hp and be streetable to boot.
