Can excessssive lash pound a pushrod over time and cause it to bend ??

Engine ran great, VERY slight miss. The valves were noisy so I pulled the valve cover to check lash and verify oiling and found the bad pushrod.

Lash was excessive but not enough to where the cup came out of the adjuster. Valve and lifter are operating and no obvious sign of a bent valve.

Car sat a LONG time, maybe a sticky guide when it was first started?

Can't get the pushrod out so the intake has to come off anyway, it's just the possible cause that's bugging me. It is amazing that it ran so well!

Leakdown good, TDC is correct, motor is all stock 50K miles.

Check the lifter "cup" for signs of damage when you get the pushrod out. I had a couple of guides hang on me and it pouded the snot out of the lifter cups. Also dinged the pistons and bent the valves....Motor got a little HOT

Excessive lash can absolutely bend a pushrod...quite easily too, depending on how high youre spinning it

Listed on ebay as great condition and checked for straightness....The rockers show the 4 that had crazy lash which seems to have beat the heck out of the pushrods...
