What? A broken 9"
Quicktree say it isn't so!
happens all the time when you use passenger car parts on a race car ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1343795-scratchchin.gif)

Looks like it's time for a race type carrier from Moser.I have compared them side by side with the Strange and I liked the Moser better with more beef where you need it around the pinion support ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif) Get the big bearing unit though so you have room to grow. Never seen a dana do that, but i've seen a lot of 9"s spit out the pinion even with the right race pinion support. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wrench.gif)
thats because you very rarely see a dana on all out race cars.

Yeah that is true, there never removed for maintenance where the average fan will see them The first magnesium(SP?) Dana 60 I saw was in the back of Don Garlts 1974 dodge one ton truck pulling his dragster at Pomona for the 1975 Winternationals Nine inch Ford rear ends are a power robber and as you already said none of the stock parts will hold up in a car that makes as much power as most Mopars make your turn, make me a movie,Please ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

sure they rob power thats why SS/AH cars run them. how many dana's you seen in a pro stock lately. the dana is probably the best factory axel if thats what you are looking for. there are way better choices now. and they are aftermarket not passenger car rejects.

The last time I looked at any of the faster SS/AH cars they all had high $$$$ Mark Williams drop out 12 bolt third members, not Ford nine inchers ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scope.gif)

so you don't understand when I say 9" it's not a ford 9"? I am talking about aftermarket racing rear ends not something off of grannies grocery getter.

But as the OP has shown, we are talking about junk passenger ford 9" rear ends. They rob power, and are poorly designed(see picture). I do agree that when you completely redesign the entire rear end, you can make it work. Even if its a 12 bolt ,or something that vaguely resembles the 9".
