I read through this whole thread the other day and it inspired me to get to working on my car again and I installed the second rear frame rail in it last night. I thought my car was rusty, it's pretty clean compared to what you started with. It looks great!

you mean there?

Steve,
It turned out nice so far,you should be happy and there will always be critics. It's a great feeling fixing something that keeps turning into a bigger project than you thought it was. It seems like you'll never start re-assembly or stop spending time & $$$. I know first hand read the post about my 71 Plymouth...

Very nice job man. That car came along way. It's great to see another 71 Bee get saved.

You'll love the colored bumpers. For some reason on this body it just looks RIGHT.

I did the same thing with mine. A cool detail I did too was have the bumper welded to the mounting brakets and then filled in the bolt holes so there's no bolts on them. Real clean look.

I figure whats a bit more welding for you! I wish I converted to a 4 speed when I had mine all apart...

You'll be able to do it. You'll have to lay blankets down and sometimes use masking tape around the areas where you are working. I just took my engine in and out twice on a freshly painted engine compartment and did not scratch it.

I've been a member for a while, but I usually frequent the "Truck" areas of the site. I just stumbled upon this thread. It has been a pleasure to read through. Kudos to you and your buddies for sticking with a project like this. That takes a lot of "stuff" - I respect that! It's outstanding to see that drive in young people to achieve something that only comes by the dogged determination of sticking with it through thick and thin to make it happen. A great lesson for life, too.

I'm looking forward to seeing the car come to completion. More power to ya!

Mark

Wheeeew... I just stumbled onto this thread and read it from page 1... some project... Amazing job!

I gotta say you and your crew took away a bit of anxiety I was having regarding the metal that needs fixin on my 71 roadrunner.

I'm feeling pretty confident now, at least as long as this thread is available... lol

My 72 (The car in my sig) was in really sad shape at one point in time and I "almost" chopped it up for parts for my 71, well the tables have turned and one might now think the 71 is only kept for parts...

Anywayz... it's good to see people that still have a drive to do as much work as they can rather than paying someone else for services rendered.

Don't worry about putting it all together, I'm sure you've put enough hours into this particular car that you could reassemble it with your eyes closed.

I don't have a garage and built the car in my sig in my driveway.
I put the engine in by myself, at night with only a trouble light. It was like second nature...

Good luck on the reassembly and more importantly "have fun!", I know I did!

Can't wait for your next installment of pics...
