Yeah I know thats one of the issues.
Figured 3k for block another 3k for alum heads. But some of the add on parts will really add up. Just some rockers for the thing is ridiculous.
Just off the top of my head I figure for the same money will make about 25% less HP just because of the additional cost.
pretty much if not more.

At least you would get the complete package with one of these I have no idea if they are a good deal over all the individual componets, just a thought. You sure pay a premium for the image, 15K makes way more grunt with a lowly wedge, both big and small versions.

im building a bracket Hemi now. Its pretty mild by todays standards. Forget about the MP Crate engines. Might as well go big. 572 cost you no more than a 426. Original blocks approach $5K. A new 4.5" bore World goes for around $2500. The New MP head cast by Edelbrock are very nice. I had my heads CNC by MCH and they have very nice numbers. 460CFM at .800 lift. Combine this with 13:1 compression, and even with a aggressive solid flat cam like in my case. 800 hp shouldn't be a stretch. And shift it at a low rpm for it to live also. I have all kinds of info if your interested, flow sheets etc. I have about $12K in the engine, and like very little to complete it.
