SealockRacing I personally would love to tub it but really the wheel wells are pretty large already. Ryan and myself have turned 18 since the start and greg will be 18 by carlisle.

Alright, got a little more work done today...

First off i finished up the out tub by welding on the flange that is welded to the quarter panel, and now she is done!

Then moved onto cutting the floor out...

Fabbed up a new piece...

Welded it in...

Then moved onto the wheel tub restoration. Here is what i started with...

Then replaced it piece by piece...

All she needs is trimmed and grinded and the bottom halves are done!

yeah, mini tubs would be cool, but ive never seen the wheel wells on a 71 bee before.

being 17, and working on race cars, and working at a shop is one of the best feelings for me.

where do you work at?

I work at a gas station mainly, but summertime Ray Barton's. This is in all taking place in my dads shop at the house. Its nothing special just an airline and welder. No fab tools or anything special like that just a nice place to work...

You know, you probably would have had this car done if you had stopped taking pictures and just worked on the car more!

This one one of the coolest post this place has had. I hope they put a sticky on it for the archives.

thats awesome man!

any chance you want to share how you got hooked up with Barton?

i want to get out of the gas station scene after a couple years and travel with a race team, and work on race cars for a few years, and then open up my own shop.

i would be more than happy enough to hang around some SS/AH cars, and a ton of Hemi's though!

i cant wait to graduate highschool. then hopefully give Bunny Burkett a call, and see whats going on with her team!

keep up the good work man!

migsBIG Most likely yea but i gotta document this thing, it takes all of your support to keep us going, really

SealockRacing I went to his shop in 8th grade for career shadowing day. A year later my dad got his hemi built there and i skipped school a few times to go to "Dr. Bartons". When we picked up the motor Ray offered me a job there in the summer. I thought he was kidding, but he wasnt. It is cool stuff and i wish you the best of luck, being in that shop to work and get paid is honestly a dream

All but finished up the upper part of the tube, and boy was it a hassle. The first attempt to fit the inner structure was cut a little short and it was hard to reference anything at that point. So we used parts car number twos wheel tub and inner structure.

Here she is resting on he hill side...

Pulled the whole quarter off to get to the backside a little easier...

Then trimmed that up a little more

Then removed the inner structure from the piece with the new measurements...

Clamped in...

Tacked in...

Then cleaned the tub with its new measurements...

Started welding and grinding...

Then we started welded in the dutchman after mocking the decklid again. All i can say is victory!

Me and Greg welding...

Here she is in, a few more to plug but basically in...

Its hard to believe that it looked like this a short bit ago...

AND NOW...

Seeing it coming back together is just plain awesome!

Alright guys i got the wheel tub repair completely done, it just needs welded. Here is the inner tub welded on...

The outer tub welded on...

Finished the left side of tub, had to make some relief cuts in it because the inner structure hung just a tad to low there...

The final product...

Put the quarter patch on to double check everything and make sure that the contour of the out tub i made fit nicely, it did...

Got a little more done tonight. I got the quarter panel tacked in place...

Then i started on the not so kosher part. Lets try not to be to negative here. As you can see the original numbers from the cowl are above and will be grafted into the new cowl. If you remember how bad the cowl was and you see how bad the numbers area is i think you may just understand...

Well today was pretty much a clean up day. I finished welding up the quarter panel and then put some wheels on and rolled her out to clean up the shop. Just stepping back and looking at all thats gone into making it look like it does is pretty darn cool. That and the fact that i thought it would be nice to get some full body shots
