I have a new Eagle 4" cast crank from Mancini, $239 + the ship awhile back & I'm assuming it is a chinese unit. Haven't measured it yet to see if it's good as is.

I get conflicting info on the dragon slayers....earlier ones (small block at least) are forged offshore and finish machined here. don't know about newer.
K1 and SCAT are IIRC overseas forged and finished here
CAT, eagle, 440 source, I think it's all offshore
Ohio Crank, overseas forged/cast, not sure where the machining is done.

I don't know who's motor this is but it could happen to any of them.
I thought there was a story behind that picture, something to the effect of oil pressure loss...?

If I had to buy another one I think it'd be a K1. I believe they're forged in China and finished here.
I guess I've never seen a crank go bad, most of the time it's the rod that lets go.

...
That happened because the piston attached to it over expanded because it was made with skirts too thin and got stuck in the bore .
I have that pic as wallpaper on my computer
Doesn't matter whose cheap chinese JUNK crank you buy you MUST have it check , if you have to scrape chamfered bearings to make it fit then whoever checked it did a LOUSY job .

Yeah, ok, whatever you say. So what caused the exact same failure in my motor over 25 years ago using a quality TRW piston and factory six-pack rods in a standard stroke 440 ?!?!?!? Not a single Chines part in the motor back then !!!

Might be something to do with a piston and pin that weighed around a kilogram, there's a lot of lighter stuff available now but they are still pretty heavy compared to a short stroker piston.

What is YOUR MALFUNCTION ??? you seem to have a hair across your backside over almost anything I post . What happened to your engine ?? I don't know because I have neve rseen anything posted pertaining to it, but if I have to hazard a GUESS it was a HEAVY piston attached to a POORLY designed rod and too many RPM's ...
I got/get chastised by donkeys like you for posting that very picture, someone asked for the explanation and I gave it as I was told by the owner of that piston/rod, the picture is from a member that hangs out in the race section. It's connected to a ROSS piston , Ross pistons are (were maybe they have now changed ???) lighter because they CNC profile the inside of the piston to make them lighter and the skirts get thin, throw a load of nitrous on the piston and it CAN over expand and seize in the bore.
