I'm in the process of gathering info on putting a new Hemi and a manual trany into a 68 Barracuda. I have seen that the 6.1 can be had with a 6 sp manual. How different is it from the old 4 sp? How much fabrication would be required to mount it? Having more gears to use may be nice but would it be worth it?

The trans itself is HUGE. Would require lots of fabrication and probably hang down prety far...

The torsion mount on the drivers side is going to require repair as well as the floor in that area. If I have to replace parts of the floor anyway why not make the adjustment? Is the trany that big? Is it a lot longer than most? Any and all imput is helpful.

I have a picture of my A833 next to the Tremec T56 viper six speed thats going in my dakota. It's on my home computer and I'm at work so I'll post it later on for you.

But yes, it is huge in comparison.

Why would you even post that?

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

Thanks for the picts. Easy to talk about but better to see. I like the frame ties and how they were used for the new trany mounts.
