That's good info. I'd always thought they were just randomly used. I've been looking for a set for a while. Not any more. Thanky!

Sorry, I was thinking about the hood bumper. Does the seat bumper get screwed in until it is tight against the bottom of the seat back?
it's adjustable

No spacer, but they did sell them over the counter. Have you tried adjusting the seat back bumpers? Just unscrew them to adjust the seat back angle forward.
The A&E-Bodies used steel spacers. P/N 2999991 I don't have any pictures of the steel spacers. If you have a good picture, please post it.
B-Bodies used steel P/N 2999991 or plastic P/N 2945544, like the ones in the attachment.
My 68 Charger and a good friends 68 Coronet used round spacers made from wood between the seat frame and the floor pan. Both of these cars were factory original cars. I didn't want to deviate from original and made a couple of sets of them for my car and his. I painted them black. I'm sure you could make a set for your car. I used 3/8" plywood and you could use the thickness you need for your desired angle of comfort.

I ran across that old thread I was talking about while looking for something else. Here is what Tom Race from R/T Specialties had to say about these spacers.

there were 3 different spacers used 67-69 a body used a thin metal one the 68-70 b-body used the ones you have pictured and the only ones being made the e-body used a plastic spacer about 1/2 the thickness of the b-body
