Anyone from the Maryland Central PA area going to the 2000 guranteed footbrake race at Mason Dixon tomorrow?

I haven't been to one for awhile and don't know what the car counts have been like but for 2k guaranteed what the heck....I am hauling my junk down....

i was thinking about going but i need new tires mine are old and hard.

Mine are over 2 years old, and have over 200 passes (not many passes last year ~80).

I didn't hear of this before, I have already arranged to race at MIR in the regular points race on Sat. But Mason-Dixon sounds like a good choice.

I went to the web site, but couldn't find any details on the payout (runner-up, semis, round money, etc). $60 entry

I dont know about the round money since its a gamblers race might not pay round money but I have been in the semis and finals before and most of the time we have kicked a few hundred back to the semi losers and split it between the winner and RU....

I like to compare the entry fee to the entire payout, not just the winner. I don't win every race, but I like to take home more money than the entry fee.

-For example from Mason-Dixon's regular Super ET class with the same entry fee:

Super ET - $60 Car & Driver
64 Cars $1500 Win - $700 R/U
$35 3rd Round Loser

So the total payout available to racers is:

1st round 64 cars, 32 losers - $zero-
2nd round 32 cars, 16 losers - $zero-
3rd round 16 cars, 8 losers x $35 = $256
4th round 8 cars, 4 losers x $70 = $280
5th round 4 cars, 2 losers x $105 = $210
6th round 2 cars, 1 loser R/U = $700, and the winner $1500

Total payout: $2964 (changes with buybacks and exact number of entries)

That is a lot better than a $2k total for the same entry fee.

I emailed Elmer the track owner to see about the round money.

I dont see gamblers anywhere posted so I am going to guess it does pay round money....

I lost 5th round last Saturday and got $90....

Actully every time I have been down this summmer the starting line has looked pretty good.

But my 10.00 pig goes 1.49 60s.....

Mason has the worst payout in MD. He doesnt guarentee anything. Its all based on car count. Compare his round money to everyone elses. Last time I raced there 5K Labor Day race to win got down to last 5 cars and got 50 bucks. He said not enough cars which was BS. Had enough for 7 rnds and should of paid the round money.
I told him I would never be back. That was 2005 and I havent been back.
Cecil and Capitol have the best payouts around

How long ago was that?

I have raced there 20 years and never lost 5th round that I didnt get 25-30 a round starting 3rd.

Even back when the entry fee was $30....

2005. I have raced at 4 of his big races and what track pays 20-30 dollar rnd money with a 100 entry fee? Go look at all other tracks. You had to WIN 3rd rnd to get $25 dollars? His races are top heavy no rnd money.
Right off his website:
Super ET - $60 Car & Driver
32 Cars $800 Win - $300 R/U
64 Cars $1500 Win - $700 R/U
100 Cars $2000 Win - $900 R/U
$35 3rd Round Loser*

GOo to Cecil any week 60 dollars to get in, $2000 to win and $50 dollar rnd money starting 3rnd LOSER. And cecil hardly ever gets more than 50 cars weekly and Jimmy still pays full purse and doesnt cut round money

The 100 dollar entry fee races are not every week cuda.....

And for years now as far as I can remember its been $30 a round starting 3rd round in heavy.

He paid the 2 K today with only maybe 2 1/2 lanes of cars in the race and paid $30 for 3rd round loss because a friend of mine lost 3rd and got $30

So I have to give Kudos ti Elmer for that!

I broke a planetary on the 2nd time run so I was done early.

Win went to Ken Mallow and Runner up was Dickey Bodmer.

Both were .003 on the tree in the final!

I dont think you understand. If you race there all the time then you know the payout. I will use Super Pro since its 2K to win every week. So here is Cecil's

60 entry
3rd round loser 50 dollar payback
2000k to win EVERY WEEK

Capitol
65 entry
3rd round loser 50 dollar payback
2000k to win EVERY Week

Both tracks payout full pay with 50 cars entered

What does elmer pay? I already know 60 dollars to get in 35 dollar rnd money. And doesnt guarentee anything...

So who is making the money? Who isnt getting the rnd money? Us thats who. Thats why I dont support his track.

Kevin440 on here knows he races at all these tracks.. Let him chime in.

I just don't run there because its dumb with a stock suspension, small tire car that 60' in the 1.30's on a good track to tow my junk all the way up there, pay entry fee, and then blow the tires off first round.

Cuda do you run footbrake? This wanst a Super Pro race....
Whats the payouts for footbrake at the other tracks? I bet not the same as super.

And he DID pay the money today and there wasn't any more then 50 cars there....

And also I cant justify hauling another 200+ miles just because some track pays a whole 20 DOLLARS more for a 3rd round win lol.

You must do this for a living.....
