While adjusting the valves on my iron headed hemi,I noticed a few drops of coolant on a piston. The plug looks like all the others. When starting up after sitting for a while,You have the smell of antifreeze from the exhaust for a moment.I just retorqued the heads, even though they have been on for almost 2 years and they were all good.I am trying to make to the end of this season before taking the engine out to freshen. So my question is,,,do I leave it alone,,,,or use some kind of cooling system sealer, and if so ,WHICH ONE?????????There are many to choose from ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcrn.gif)

You really could leave it alone as long as you are not having to add to the radiator all the time.
Or you can use a radiator sealer that is compatible with antifreeze and does not require a fulsh afterwords. That leaves out any of the HD versions. They are real caustic and require flushing.
The one I used to use all the time was a wood pulp looking or looked kind of like sand mixed with water or BABY SHizzit. I used it routinely to prevent leaks in the Demon. I just added it and left it in there.
If you literally only saw a couple drops in there and the LAST time you drove the car you only started it to move it a 100 feet then it could have been condensation?

Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention. Always crack the cap and release the pressure after running it. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif) MB

I use a can of Bars Leak every time I rebuild (shouldnt use anti freeze in a race car)
Well,I street drive my junk over 4000 miles a year,so I consider it a streeter. I did pick up a bottle of BARS that has the ceramic & fiber properties in it.After retorqueing, flushed the system with water. The antifreeze that I drained has a bit of the sour smell that you would get with very old anti-freeze and it is only a few monthes old .Anyway, didn't have time to follow the directions on the bottle.Filled system with water and went to the Friday night cruise .I almost put the bottle in before going,,,,but was hesitant not to do it as per instructions. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smoke.gif)

If you go for a run, or a pass down the strip, as soon as you get out just pop the hood and crack the cap and release the pressure. It won't "fix" anything, but it might allow you to limp it along without polluting the cylinder with a ton of coolant until you can fix it properly.
