working on doing a mockup blower intake manifold, doing it out of balsawood wish is very easy to work with and when it all looks right i will just take it apart and make the real deal out of aluminum, mostly 1/2" and 3/8" i think maybe the toppiece that bolts the blower down will be made of something slightly thicker

this is some pics of how it looks so far, am i doing something real stupid yet or should i just keep on doing this the way i do it?

all the walls will be cut down alot lower, just slightly taller than the flanges out by the cylinder heads..

last one so far, not the best pics and the real deal will be done with alot better precision and i will probaly use something like headerbolts with small heads to bolt it down to make it alitle easer to work with, planing on puting the thermostathousing at the front of the manifold, kind of like on a smallblock ford
the cardbordpice is a simple copy of the bottom of the blowercase, hope im not doing to bad

Necessity is the mother of invention Get er done I wouldn't use 3/8 and 1/2 inch thick aluminum stock, probally 1/4 inch maximum

this wheel was never invented unfortionaly, not from what i know atleast there is manfiolds for rootsblowers but they cost 936.36$ from bds and still wont fit right with a lysholm twinscrew so i just started designing my own instead...

it will take some time and cost some money but i think it will be fairly good when done
thought it would be alot less risk of it flexing making it that thick, will do some more reserch on how stiff the manifold needs to be to keep it sealed and keeping the blower in one piece

I would move the end walls closer to the attaching bolts and further away from the port walls on the 2,8,1,7 ports.

ok would i then try to make a good radius on the portopening on the flange? my though on it was that it would work as a runnerwall but im learning and appreciate all the help i get
thanks

ooh and reason i dont call hogan and order something is that its a ton of money and i dont realy learn alot from it, i realy like doing my own stuff as long as i can and i can learn something from it
i dont know alot about welding aluminum but i have a friend that is helping out with that part and i hope i may learn something from that also

yep i like the way you think
im trying to keep my manifold fairly low trying to keep it all under some kind of scoop for atleast alitle bit of "stealth" also i have looked at trying to make this manifold out of something already existing but outlet of the blower is about 1" wider than most plenums on "normal" manifolds:(
