NHRA rule book states a loop is required running 13.99 and quicker IF utilizing slicks.
Are Drag radials such as MT ET Streets and Hoosier QTP's classified as a slick, or are they classed as street tires? What would your track do?
Our tech team for this years race needs to clear this up.

We took our 11-12 second street cars to a small local track here (LaPeer dragway) and they made us run 1/8 mile because none of the cars had loops. That part that made us made was no one had "slicks", just ET streets and radials.

My guess would be that would be to the tracks discretions as how they want to class those tires.

We have ET street Biased on the 72 and when they Have a TnT they call by DOT or slicks. The 72 goes up with the slick cars so since I conisder it a slick I put a loop in it.

That's kind of the same way I feel....To me it's basically is a slick. Like as if a driveshaft loop is such a hard thing to install!
Anyone else???

I would put one in regardless. Is your safety worth the risk? I broke a driveshaft on the street before in my uncles car. Yeah.. had to explain to him why not back yet when I called him. Front loop would have saved it punching through the floor but it broke 12 inches in front of the rearend. I am now going to be putting one by the rearend also on my car.
