Looks like I found my oil leak on my 440 Oil is seeping out from the passenger side #8 cylinders back lower corner from the head gasket
Any suggestions before I go into major surgery I am going to re torque the head to see if that stops the leak

I know you probably looked, but double check if it is coming from the back corner of the intake and running down to the corner of the head. It can be very easy to miss th estrat of the leak, and just see the bottom it.

Jeff, I checked. The oil is for sure coming from between the block and head. I was under the car for a half hour and watched the oil leak from between the block and head.

That's an odd place for a leak if you're positive it's not v/cover or rear intake leak. There is no oil anywhere near that corner of head, unless the cylinder seal is actually squeeking some.

It is very unlikely that a wedge will leak oil between the head, gasket and block, unlike a hemi that has two oil returns one at each lower corner and are prone to leak. The wedge has only the oil feed at the top for rocker oiling. The seal would have to be very loose for oil to migrate that far.Make sure that what your seeing isn't gas/oil from the combustion chamber/cylinder.To test the leak for it's origin close the valves on the cylinders in the area in question and add some gas or alcohol to the cylinder and pressureize with air and visualy inspect the areas for seepage.

I had a sm block in my 79 "300" one time do that. It had chrysler steel shim head gaskets and while on a lift with motor running it was blowing little bubbles from between the block and head. Oil would run down the head-block parting line and then drip. Drop would land on a header tube. While at a stop light about every 45 second a puff of smoke would come from between the hood and fender. drove me crazy! It took allmost a whole summer to figure out where the oil leak was. I still don't know how the oil could have got there to leak. Car ran great and did not smoke out the exhaust. I swithched the head gaskets to 1008 fel-pros and problem solved.

I had a hell of time finding the leak on mine . Ended up it was the valley pan . The oil was running down between the block and the head . It looked like the head was leaking but it wasn't .

Take some liquid cleaner like solvent or carb cleaner, brake cleaner and thoroughly clean the back of the motor including the valley pan area, once that is done stick or tape a soft rag at the corner of the valley pan and the head and the block, start the motor up again and watch to see if you can see any oil coming out of the block and the head gasket in the same place like it did before Let us know what you find out, when it comes to Mopars(especially troubles) nothing is impossible
