They have this thing they are trying to get going in this area.

the only track around here are over a 100 miles away
So this guy has been trying to get this going in the area and get some more intrest and hopefully find a better place to do it.
maybe get a 1/8 mile going somewhere

Anyway I know it's lame to be racing on a circle track. but we don't have many options right now

they have been getting about 20 or so car showing up
Yesterday only Me and one other car showed up
So we did the best 2 out of 3

I drove my car there from my house about 22 miles or so away in 88 degree weather. he trailer his car there

Heres the pic of me shaking the guys hand thats trying to make it happen

the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysCbqO227dI

Was fun to get the car out and beat it for a little while

staging area. I believe the "course" is 300ft long. Timing equipment is from the defunct Inyokern dragstrip. Even has display boards with et/mph.

Nothing like shutting down immediately , too bad theres no tree , looks like good practice for launching.

I was just joking with 340Rick the other day, I told him 60 foots are getting to be so important to everyone that someday I believe there will be 60 foot dragstrips.

When I go from Apache Jct. up to Vegas, it's always
nice to stop at the Kingman Harley Davidson.
What time of year are they running dragraces
like that?

Its official Napa Racing Kingman Street Drags VI is on September 18th,19th and 20th 2009.
We will again have two days of racing on Saturday and Sunday.
This year we will move the burn out contest to Friday night. The plan is to incorporate the Friday night welcoming party with a two hour burnout contest that will give us three finalist to compete on Sundays finals.
This year also the Down Town Merchants Association has joined in with Route 66 Wings and Wheels Inc. to ad a Car Show and Block Party on Saturday

...I attended with the car once many years ago when they used an old runway at the airport. They've been in town for quite a few years now and we've gone up to watch on a couple occasions. Bum thing about taking your car there is that the "pit areas" are residential areas a block or two away from the track so you don't get to see much. It's getting to be a pretty big deal and there are starting to be quite a few "bragging rights" as to who ran the fastest in Kingman. Hard to hook on a street....it's the great equalizer.

Mother Road HD is where I got my bike.

That won't give much time for some "racers" throttle stops to work.

In Pittsburgh/ Pittsburgh Raceway hosted Pittsburgh Thunder which was 330 ft racing on the streets at Heinz Field Pittsburgh North Side. It was a blast Just need some serious gears they had time slips the works and 60 tons of sand type material in case you had problems stopping. Only had it a couple years I wish they would bring it back!
