Pulled the 440 out of the Cuda to take care of some problems and discovered the Mcleod street twin clutch is toast too after about 1500 miles. This car was put together by previous owner and I've heard good things about this setup. Car has a fairly serious vibration at top end that I haven't been able to chase down. Looking at new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel to eliminate the vibration. Mcloed or Centerforce? Car is 525HP, mostly street driven with ocasional visit to the strip. Want to be able to thrash it and not worry for couple thousand miles a year. Any suggestions and also who can I get this from at the nats while I'm there? Thanks Greg

Call Wayne Brewer @ Brewer's Performance. He'll hook you up -- literally.

525 hp and the street twin is toast? There is something else wrong. Clutch must not have been broke in or adjusted correctly.

Car was not put together as well as it looked. wrong push rods with no oil hole toasted the rockers, shafts, valve guides. I just dropped $2500 into a fresh motor that I put 1500 miles on it before it turned into a oil drinking hog. So who knows what was wrong with the clutch, flywheel has chatter marks too, so I think its best to start over with new.

Check the bellhousing to crank alignment, be sure b/h is attached with all bolts to torque spec before measuring.

As for clutch recommendation get the one you have rebuilt. Call Sam Jr at Rochester Clutch and Brake
585-232-3717. He speaks mopar fluently and can rebuild it for you in a timely fashion.

I bet Brewers or Passion will have a setup at the Nats so you can save on the shipping.

I like CF but that McLeod might be what you want if it is actually setup correctly.

I want my fair share

Dragged my stuff to the Brewers and after inspecting it they suggested I return it to Mcleod for remanning. Saved me hundreds over purchasing a new set up! Super Nice Guys and it says so much when a business person does whats best for the customer instead of whats $$$ in the business pocket. Loaned me their dolly to drag my heavy box 1/4 mile too. Backs up the reviews here too. Thanks Brewers! and any purchases I make will definitely be thru you. Greg
