No , I have found someone on Moparts that is mistaken on what he thinks knows about small bolt pattern wheels. So I said I would post and see what everyone else says. His comment was " They made 15 x 7 small bolt steel wheels and they were an option after 1970 " I told him they made 14 x 4.5 , 14 x 5.5 in steel wheels and 14 x 5.5 in ralley wheels. Thanks.... well........those 15x7 could be considered small bolt pattern when compared to 60 something Imperial wheels........but they were still the 4.5 bolt circle, not the 4.0
Must remember... my humor doesn't work on forums.....my humor doesn't work on forums.

Learn to quote properly. I NEVER said they were an option. Read your PMs again.

That's exactly what I said in the first place. I never suggested Chrysler offered 15" SBP in any type of wheel from the factory as an option.
I said Chrysler offered 15" SBP wheels as a dealer order item.
Are you saying 15x7 SBP Steel wheel were available over the counter from Mopar? And/Or Rallyes.
I doubt HD steel rims because Mopar made up special disks that could take LBP and run on the A-body KH disk setup for the 66 Trans Am project. And that is what they used off the shelf for the 68 Super Stock cars.
I have a 65 Chrysler Performance parts list out of a magazine and it only list 14x5.5 for Rally competiton.
I'm having a hard time believing the 15x7 SBP Rallyes. By 1970 when the Rallye rims came about Scott Harvey and the Rally Car A-body was not going on so there wasn't a racing need for those.

Drop the rallyes. They were never in my initial inquiry...
I'm speaking of a 15" plain steel wheel that I believe Chrysler may have offered as a dealer order only (parts counter) type of part.
I'm trying to dig up an old ad or other information.
I think it's unlikely, but I'm not going to say never.
I think the best bet to start looking would be something related to the A-body off road Rally competition stuff that Scott Harvey did. His notes are listed in the early DC Bibles that are collection of tech tip papers compilted into on book. I have a 1980 copy of one of those and I will look right now for you...

Ok I looked up the DC Performance Book under Tech Tip #5 Rally Preparation PN P4120595. Here is a synopsis of what they write there... Section 7 " 4 1/2" Bolt Circle Wheels -page 153 It says here to use PN 2836148 special rotor-hub assembly with all wheel studs 1/2-20 right hand threads. Also says there was a special axle for an A-body 8 3/4 with 4 1/2" bolt circle and all 1/2-20 right hand threads. That PN is 2513750-M and 2513751-M. And that the brake drum must be replaced with PN 2534173. It also says the same brake shoes from the SBP drums can be used. Which to me means those are weird special drums because A-bodies uses a unique width shoe I thought? Section 8 Wheels pg 154 It says to use 14x6 Crager rims with SBP. Also suggests American Racing 15x7 work well but use the special hub and rotor assemblies noted in Section 7. -Ok, that's one source. That doesn't 100% eliminate the possibility of 15x7 steel SBP rims. Next would be some old Chrysler aftermarket performance catalogs like this: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/1968Hi-PoParts-01.shtml

Sounds like the dealer was buying an AFTERMARKET WHEEL and installing it for customers that wanted them ?? If so what's the big deal , a dealer could do that today if a customer was $o inclined to pay for it ????
