But on a race motor does paint hurt? My all aluminum hemi is painted to look like it's all iron (orange block and heads) w/ wrinkle black valve covers. Only the intake is bare aluminum. Darrell top fuel D Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 1,634 Petersburg, Va	I paint all my aluminum engine parts with the high heat aluminum paint and then put the high heat clear paint on afterwards. When you have a oil-antifreeze leak or what ever, it seems to wipe off better.
