Most people seem to buy their factory replacement speakers from turnswitch.com. That is if you're using a factory radio. Aftermarket radio's would use different speaker ohms.
Most so called speaker restoration places plate/re-cone, but don't have the equipment to properly re-magnetize the magnet. Do you plan on listening to your radio? Big_Money_Lewis has more info on this stuff.

i just went through the same thing with my a12 superbee. i got the one from turnswitch.com, instead of reconing the old one.its not worth the aggravation and cost, unless you have a oe gold car, go with the factory replacement from turnswitch, once its under the dash you'll never see it. also Gregs customer service is excellant.

turnswitch fixed my radio and i bought their new replacement speakers for my Challenger. the speakers are real nice. they are not an EXACT replacement. i have a 3 speaker dash so i got the 4x10 and the 2- 3 1/2" speakers. i had to trim the dash for the 4x10 and one of the 3 1/2", but after the new dash pad went on, you can't see it. they did my radio for $192 with the shipping and i bought it for $220 with shipping. i have less than $500 into an e-body radio, which i think is great. a lot of members recommended them from reading the posts so i called and sent out my radio. i am very happy with their work. when i got it back and installed it in the car, i connected a jump box to test it out and it sounded great. probably much better that it was out of the factory. oh, and as for the factory connectors, i cliped the old leads and soldered them on to the new speakers

I had mine done by a local guy who fixed car radios. He reconed it and rewired it for $30.

At Moparts, the concensus is there is no consensus.

Hang on folks.
Literally yesterday, I sent Turnswitch's new model E-body 4"x10" oval replacement speaker back for refund. IT DOES NOT FIT the factory hole in the dash. Very close, but won't go down flush into the hole due to a differently stamped/shaped metal basket. I could screw it in, but the grille would then not sit flush with the rest of the dash. NOTE: My dash is completely original and unmodified, and I also had the original speaker with which to gauge the differences.
The Turnswitch replacement speaker has a squared off, uniform-depth, metal basket frame. But if you look closely at a factory Mopar speaker you will see it has a rounded metal basket frame and each side (when viewed from the long axis) is a different depth. Then look into the speaker hole and you'll see another layer/shelf of the dash frame a couple of inches below and kinda offset to the center of the speaker hole. That underlying piece is why the speaker's metal basket frame can't be square or uniformly shaped/depth if it is to fit properly.
Called Turnswitch and the guy was good about it. He said that model is a universal fit thing for a lot of GM models (primarily Corvettes) and no one had as of yet reported the E-body problem to him. Told me to send it back for a refund.
Until total honesty is on the table, we're not even talking about reality...

Try www.simplyspeakers.com They re-cone speakers & may be able to help. I istalled the Turnswitch repops in my Chally w/ 3 speaker dash option & fits & sounds great. Turnswitch even drew a wiring installation diagram for me. Good luck w/ your situation.
