When I got the car it had 29-18.5 sportsman pros on it and it was kind of tight then.

I ran 31-16.5 QTP's and those were ok, not too tough to get on and off. By just disconnecting the shock mounts, I could swing the four link low enough to get the tire on and off. But when I put the 32-13.6 Phoenix Radials on it, it was a pain. I had to drop the driveshaft, diagonal link and shock mounts, then lower the fourlink to just the right position to squeeze the tires in there. Too low, and it would swing forward and you couldn't get the tire past the lower front where the lip kind of bends back.

So, got out the air hacksaw and mig and clearanced them.
Cut just behind the lip up to where I wanted to extend the radius, then cut out a wedge section. Tapped the lip back and welded it up. Then ground smooth and a little metal glaze got it ready for primer and paint.

Had local shop shoot it with paint I had left over from doing the engine bay, but of course I forgot the camera when I went to pick it up and now its in the trailer.

I'll have to get "finished" shots when I take it out to the track on Saturday.

Tires are MUCH easier to get off now.

It pays to do it right, many times over on a race car looks good to

Ok, actually got the car back from the paint shop on Monday, but Friday I sanded and buffed out the blend line.
Here is the final result of each wheelhouse and one profile of the car.

It's amazing how little body work is actually required with this mod. I'm suprised more people don't attempt it. Looks good. This works very well on A-Bodys with limited clearance as well.

Ted, I'm planning on running the SCEDA race at Fontana on Saturday. Hopefully I can put some decent reaction times to the consistency the car showed last Saturday.

I'll be there testing my new motor..... be sure to stop by. Never been at a SCEDA event before, do they get large turnouts?

Thanks! So far so good. Been a best of 10.139 @ 133.54 last saturday.
Still have lots of tuning to do, haven't changed jetting yet from what we dyno'd it with in Feb.

Tom,
Not really sure. I've never run SCEDA before either. I'm just looking for any chance I can get to take it out.
I'm thinking about doing an early load-in on Friday. What are your plans?
