Here's the simple FACTUAL math folks. I chose 6 current "sponsoring builders", and 6 current members, who do not sponsor, myself included, who post information for all to use:
6 current sponsors: TOTAL of 1,598 posts.
6 current members: TOTAL of 29,963 posts
Hmmmmm, do you need any help doing the math here folks?
Just so you can see for yourself, I chose RyanJ, CompetitioNWedge, Bob George, Monte Smith and Fast68 ( Dwayne Porter) as current members.I didnt throw in AndyF even, I dont know his sponsor status, so I left it out, but tons of informative posts as well. I am sure 1,000s if I look.
So I ask to you all, WHO are the selfish ones here looking to " line their pockets"?
In order to have a site that is a wealth of information, you simply cant expect that everyone wants to PAY , so that THEY, can share their free advice.
Before all the bashers start their typical nonsense, I do NOT have a problem whatsoever with Tom. Never had. I just think this decision was made without enough thought, ( and options) and consideration.
Again, the facts dont lie.
For those that think the $600 is a " tax write off", apparently you have never owned a business. A " writeoff" doesnt mean squat. You STILL pay the money, and you STILL write a check.
Also, this ( for me) ISNT about spending the $600. Its about how it came down, and the whining that promted it. Again, look at the numbers, the knowledge and shared information from the 6 " members" I have posted. Do you think they HAD to share this info? What if they took this same information and contacted a magazine? They would get PAID to supply it.No one is expecting that at all here. Just some simple consideration and professional courtesy.
Funny thing you mentioned the 6 cheapest guys on here. All trying to get free advertising. All promoting what they do. Its so evident of their agenda. They got caught after the few paying sponsors saw what actually was going on. All of these non paying members made tens of thousands of dollars off this website. So they can't kick back $600.00 for an ad or banner.I CALL IT BEING CHEAP! If they did contribute FINANCIALLY, I'd bet they get even more business.
These "cheap" guys that you say draw in people to the board by giving "FREE" knowledge to many...That generates traffic and allows the sponsors to then sell products. IMO don't turn it into what came first the chicken or the egg,it's insulting.....With-out guys who happen to be in the business giving out information for "FREE" the traffic will slow down as will sponsorship that feeds off the traffic they draw in...Then all that would be left is things like the "eppic silly thread "...Then say

Why do people seem to have animosity towards this thread in the first place?
Must be a boring life to live if you can't be abit silly...
Wow!
I just read the statement above and I'm just wow. It's like saying that Barry doesn't do enough for the hobby
I like this thread cause you need some non-seriousness in life. When it comes to Moparts members I've bent over backwards to help them with what little knowledge I have or to find them a unique part - and I assume that the others in this thread are the same way
