I've Always screwed them down. Most of the guys at my track do too. The talk is You don't realy need to any more with tube less slicks. I run a 2900 race weight car with 14.5 X 33 X 15 tires @ 10 seconds. What do you guys do??
Thanks Moparts

With that size slick and weight I would guess your
tire pressure is about 8 1/2#... thats not alot of
pressure to hold the tire to the rim... I would screw
them on.... JMO

i run them both ways. i didnt want to screw my new prostars so i just went tubeless with no screws, no leaks and the slicks dont turn on the rims. 30 x 10.5W x 15 no issues with screwless.

I marked a set of tubless slicks on a 13 second car a few years ago. They moved about 4" over the course of the day.

Screw them.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

I agree with Mr. P.

The only time I think you don't need them is high tire pressure (14 psi) and low power combined. That is both.

Well...back in the day all the tire reps would give us free slicks for winning class various places and when they comped us tires, they said"O no just like car tires this is new tech" We ran them tubeless and had problems. Like going flat staging. Screw and tubes here.

Ran both tubeless and tubes. Screw'em.

You might be doing a real smoky burn out with your rims inside your tires with that size tire, screw them and be safe. Yes we all know the pain of drilling your new wheels, we all have agonized over that. But almost all race cars have their tires screwed on the ones that don't maybe are not?

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead
