Called Smith Bros today to order push rods for a 426 Hemi . I am getting conflicting #'s on the correct length. Original block and heads, anybody know for sure or should I wait to put the motor together and measure?
Thanks Bob

Solid or Hydraulic lifters?

I plan on waiting until the motor is together and then measure for length. That way I only have to order them one time.

Hydraulic lifters, sorry I forgot to mention that.

I would mock up the engine with a head gasket and measure for your pushrods. I had Smith Brothers make me up a set of pushrod length checkers that I have used on my last two builds.

Push rods should be the last parts you buy.
You don't know what the correct length is
until you can actually measure the length you need.
