Hey prowler! Thanks for the great pictures! It's always nice to have pix posted by other people because you'll get a different "viewpoint" as it were. Very cool. I just spoke with John on the phone and he said that not only were you a fantastic host/super cool guy, but your Mopars were awesome as well. Really making me feel sorry that I didn't go on this trip now!

Hoosier: I told John just a few minutes ago (on the phone) that you wanted to see some pix of the interior and HE said that they'll snap some and post them a little later. They're just about on the road again and have to focus their energies.

And here's a general "trip timing" update for those that are interested:
John, DG and Mark are just now perparing to embark the highway with the Daytona and Aussie Falcon. It is 8:00am (west coast time) and they expect to be on the road by 8:20'ish. They expect to be pulling into Grand Junction, Colorado (I think that's where John said they'll land next) in about 8 or 9 hours. They will provide a more personal update around that time. And that's all the news that's fit to print!

Dale

John - I thought that you might want an updated sig picture for MoParts. Let me know if you want a smaller version or a different layout...

Sounds like a great adventure that you have going! When the Daytona was on eBay, I gave some thought to buying it. Its great to see it going to a good home!

I have gone on similiar adventures myself, the last being 2 years ago making a 1200 mile trip up to Grand Forks, North Dakota in a rental Mustang to drive a 48K mile survivor 68 Polara back to Texas... I made the trip up driving straight through, only stopping for fuel. It was a great trip, but I am getting too old to do it often...

Best of luck on the remainder of the journey!

Allen

Here is an updated sig picture...

I was at the CEMA car show today at the Chrysler Tech Center.. Great show! Anyway, about 11:30 or 12:00 I got a call from DG and onebad.. They were running a little late, but were ready to head back out on the road. Onebad sounds really excited and theyre having a real good time. Hopefully they get a little break from the heat.

Hey guys, if you read this sometime soon, great job on the photos so far!! Take your time and be careful driving!

This is very interesting to follow. I know that the return trip doesn't include Tulsa but if you change plans and need a place to stay(warm meal) and garage space let me know. You are more then welcome here.

We had a blast today.... I had a blast driving that awesome Daytona for over 10 hours to Colorado. We started out the day with a car wash given by a group of youngsters at a local gas station. They had a great time soaping down the "cool car".
We saw a lot of neat scenery and met a heap of nice folks along our journey, we also got some wierd looks when I rolled up into the gas stations in the Daytona lol, also, I think I gave at least 50 truck drivers great stories to tell their buddies for years to come....(not that anyone will believe them when they tell them they saw a little red head in a bikini driving a right hand drive Daytona Charger through the desert)... it was hot and there was a lot of heat coming off the firewall in Arizona so I had to wear it.
Anywayz, I had a blast and can't wait for tomorrow. We are all looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible along the way.
Take care, and see you soon.
Mark says hi and John God love him, is passed out on the bed fast asleep.

See you all tomorrow!

peace,
DG

Sounds like you are having lots of fun. How much wieght will one of those wings support? I see Dart Girl hanging on the back of it. Just curious. You all make me jealous. I am so tired of the rain back East. The challenger has hardly been out this year with all the rain. Oh well at least some of us are having fun. Have a safe trip and God bless.

Hey y'all, I just woke up and figured I'd better get on here and make a post! Like DG said, yesterday was totally awesome!

XS29J8, thanks for the way cool sig pic! It totally rocks! I will email you a back end shot taken at the same time that really looks wicked when I get home and if you could use that one instead, that would be reeeeeeeally cool!

GTX440SixPack, thanks for the offer!

TurquoiseRT, we should be in Indy in a few days!

We're going to meet up with MsclcarDan and a bunch of other folks from here in Grand Junction and then we're off to Oklahoma City.

DG handles the RHD Daytona like there's no tomorrow. It's something ya gotta see to believe!

The only bummer we've had so far is that the Falcon is using about a quart of oil for every 100 miles we go. Back in the day, the Daytona had a trailer hitch installed so that Kevin Monk from Australia could tow the '32 Ford street rod he bought in Oklahoma back to California to be shipped back to Australia. History may just repeat itself and the Daytona may just have to tow an old Ford cross-country again!

Thanks again for everyone's kimd words. Stay tuned as there's definitely more to come!
